Wetting Treatment & Organic Seaweed Treatment
All Green Lawn Treatments offers lawn wetting treatments to help improve the health of your lawn.
These treatments are offered as part of a year-round treatment plan.
What is a lawn wetting agent?
Wetting agents help more water get into the soil, which in turn means that more water gets down to your lawn’s root system.
As water is distributed more effectively, wetting agents can reduce how much water you need to put on your lawn, and how frequently your lawn needs watering.

How do wetting agents work?
Wetting agents are surfactants. Surfactants reduce the surface tension of water which helps it spread out more and penetrate more deeply. Any water on the lawn, whether that is rain, morning dew or from watering, is therefore utilised far more effectively.
How can a wetting agent help my lawn?
If you’ve noticed that your lawn has lost its colour in patches it may be suffering from Localised Dry Patch (LDP). This can happen when a soil becomes hydrophobic, meaning that it repels water rather than absorbing and retaining it.
Hydrophobic soil can be caused by waxy deposits from organic materials such as fungi. When these waxy deposits coat the soil it means it can no longer absorb water. The surfactant action of wetting agents counteracts the affect of these waxy deposits.
The long term use of a wetting agent will improve the health of your lawn as water is distributed throughout the root system. It will also improve the water holding capacity of the rootzones.
Using a wetting agent should mean that your lawn looks better and requires less maintenance, especially during periods of particularly dry weather.
How often should wetting agents be applied?
At All Green Lawn Treatments we recommend this treatment is carried out monthly from March until October, although for some lawns, applications can be applied all year round if required.
Can you combine other treatments with a wetting agent?
Absolutely! At All Green Lawn Treatments we combine our wetting agent with a seaweed fertiliser to give your lawn an extra boost.
Tell me more about the seaweed!
The organic seaweed treatment that we add is sustainably sourced, and is processed in such a way to help maintain the bioactive components in the seaweed. The seaweed adds complex micronutrients to your soil as well as stimulating root growth.
That’s not all, it also stimulates your lawns defences against fungal diseases, as well as helping it cope with extreme weather conditions such as intense heat, drought or waterlogging.
